Combining creative design concepts with high technologic construction techniques, Netherlands-based Van Aken Architecten office designed Turkcell Data center which is Leed Gold certified. The building is featuring a modern architecture example with its form and grey colour range of facade.
The entrance of the building is opening to outside with its transparent facade, while the rest of the building was created with an opaque skin. Information desk and lobby units are on the basement level that is used for communicating with customers. Designing with four colours of Steni, acrylic surfaces are bringing dynamic smoothness to the monotonous building facade. Strengthen the horizontal form of the building, facade boards creating a visual harmony with vertical glass surfaces.
The building was located by the geology of land, wind and sun. Located in northeast and southwest, the data center is taking advantage of natural light with glazed entrance area while the data units are kept from sunlight.
For the facade of the building, long-lasting acrylic surface material Steni is offered, as the panels are durable against strikes and freezing. The boards provide convenience in construction phases with flexibility and lightness. Smooth surfaces of material are giving dynamism to facade designs with vivid colour ranges.
In order to correspond the usage of the building, the architect chose four shades of grey to impress a dynamic image. Steni products which are used in Turkcell Datacenter are RAL 7012 HM, RAL 7040 HM, RAL 7046 HM ve RAL 7047 HM.
